Elphinstone
Tower was built in Lothian in about 1440. It was 35 x 50
feet in size and five stories high. Widely regarded as
one of the finest examples of a fifteenth century
Scottish tower (along with Comlongon and Borthwick), the
castle was recently razed down to the first story due to
subsidence of the ground on which she stood.
